HERE IS THE INFORMATION NEEDED FOR GOOD DECISION-MAKING :

Installation

As a guideline, you should consider the following:

  • Labour: + / - 15 hours x the hourly rate of the workshop
  • A set of gaskets (head gasket kit) for a short block, from (call for exact price)
  • Oil and Antifreeze
  • Since the engine will be out of your vehicle, the replacement of parts should be assessed according to the manufacturer's recommendations and by visual inspection
  • The replacement of premature worn parts will make you save. We speak here of the belt, the tensioner and the pcv plate.

We do a thorough diagnosis by computers, cameras and other equipment on the cutting edge of technology.

We can install your engine. Otherwise, when your own technician needs advice, he can contact us.



Our engines are guaranteed

We offer a guarantee on all our aspiration and turbocharged engines.

Some of our requirements:

  • Some parts must be replaced because of metal shrapnel that are not clean: intake manifold (intake) or if the turbo piston disintegrates, failure to oil (supplied), oil cooler.

  • Prime the oil pump. Clean the radiator (received support).

  • You must keep proof / receipts for oil changes and periodic maintenance as specified by the manufacturer.

In case of complaint, the invoices will be required.

Make an oil change and filter after 500 km (free if done at our workshop).

The first 6000 km must be made with mineral oil. During this time, use only original Subaru filters.

For transmission, the radiator coolant should be cleaned.

Department History

We started the reconstruction of Subaru engines due to the many problems that our service has had with used engines, engines imported from Japan and low availability.

The solution was rebuilt engine, affordable and with a good warranty.



Machining:

The engines are completely dismantled. All bearings are replaced by new ones.

The crankshaft (crank) is inspected and most are machined. The cylinders are checked to determine the wear: conical, vertical and circular.

The cylinders are bored (boring) and refined (honing), if necessary, to meet the specifications of the Subaru manufacturer.

The pistons are usually replaced by new ones since the corrections pistons require a higher caliber (oversize).

Only very low engine mileage does not require drilling and new pistons.

We install new pumps.



Why change an engine?

Your engine knock, or scold a lot of oil? Maybe you need a new engine.

Before taking this expensive decision, here is some information to guide you.

An excessive oil consumption may be due to a valve, the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation valve), and be easily repaired. But most often it is due to wear of the cylinders or glued rings.

In the case of knocking or rumble, your mechanic can determine where specifically the noise is coming from, possibly with a stethoscope.

A rumbling on the pistons 2 and 4 can be reduced by installing new oversized pistons of 6 thousands of a millimeter in both cylinders.

When your engine is cold, a rumble can occur in about 20 minutes or as long as the engine warms ups.

When noise is produced sustained at around 3 000 rpm, the disorder is often the crankshaft and can be easily checked by ear (stethoscope). A new engine will be necessary.
